South Africa’s Best Hybrid Functional Fitness Event

– TEAM (A Hybrid Hero Team consists of two participants (male/male | female/female | male/female). The disciplines and running should collectively be completed between the two team members. There are no restrictions on which of the team members completes which stations or running laps, as long as all disciplines and running are performed and completed. Team participants, however, are not allowed to assist each other at any stage; otherwise, they will be deemed disqualified. In the case of disqualification, the team will still be allowed to complete the remainder of the event but will not be eligible for podium positions.)
Format:
Athletes will be set off in waves with a 10-15 minute delay between each wave.
Athletes will dash towards a (sortation chamber) where it will be first come, first serve selecting your discipline code (strength, agility, or endurance). You will immediately start with that discipline sequence, transferring to the next discipline sequence until all three discipline sequences have been completed.
In-between each discipline, participants are required to run the set-out running route before moving on to the next discipline. There will also be a “challenge” in between each Discipline Sequence before athletes can transition to the next discipline sequence. The athlete will be considered “finished” as soon as all the disciplines in each sequence along with the running is completed.
Timing:
Athletes will be timed individually according to their allocated BIB number (which should be visible at all times). BIB numbers will either be assigned upon the first event sign-up. This bib number will stay your unique bib number for the season.
Penalties:
If a participant is not able to fully complete any of the disciplines or running with the required movement standards without any assistance, the participant will be considered disqualified. The participant will, however, still be allowed to complete the event but will not be considered for the podium.
Event Conduct:
– Hybrid Heroes events are based on a first-come, first-serve basis. If at any point an athlete wants to perform a station which is fully occupied, the athlete either has to choose another discipline within the current sequence to perform or wait until the station is not fully occupied.
– If in an unlikely situation where an athlete approaches his/her final station/discipline and it is fully occupied, the athlete only has a choice to wait until the station is available again before completing the station.
Prize Money & Awards:
Competitors eligible to receive prize money or awards must:
– Fill out and provide us with all required information in order to receive prize money and awards.
– Compete in the following categories: Elite, Over 40, U18. (Team category does not receive prize money or awards unless advertised otherwise.)
– Fully complete a race (without disqualification). Please allow at least 14 days for prize money payment to be made.
Regional Participation:
Participants are allowed to compete in any region in as many races as they please. Points will, however, only be allocated in the region of participation. For example, if an athlete competes in Gauteng and in Cape Town, the points gained from both regions will not be counted together. The points gained will only count for the region of participation.
Variations:
Hybrid Heroes may from time to time change these rules and make further rules at its absolute discretion.
